Public Relations Account Coordinator

Heying & Associates, one of San Diego’s most dynamic “boutique” PR/marketing agencies is seeking a talented Public Relations Account Coordinator.  We offer a people-oriented, team environment and mission driven accounts. Solid writing skills are a must as is an interest in legal/education/corporate/non-profit and professional services industries. We are looking for a team member who has excellent time management skills and enjoys a fast paced, professional yet fun working environment.

The Account Coordinator reports directly to the President and Account Executive of the agency.  The position is currently open as part time – 25-35 hours per week and may quickly turn into a full time position for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Media tracking and list building
  • Internet research
  • Social Media content development and website updating
  • Drafting press releases and pitch letters
  • Coordinating event logistics
  • Conducting pitch calls and other media outreach activities
  • Developing databases
  • Create PowerPoint presentations
  • Participation in internal client brainstorming sessions
  • Craft client memos that, with minimal edits by account lead, can be forwarded to client
  • General office and client support


You are qualified to join our team if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing/communications
  • 6-12 months full-time office experience, internship or other relevant experience
  • Social media aptitude
  • Strong organizational and teambuilding skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good grammar, spelling, punctuation, and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a
  • fast-paced office
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, WordPress, various Social Media platforms and PowerPoint a must, plus knowledge of SharePoint or other collaboration software preferred
